Entry Visa

Documents Required:

Spouse – Joining
  1. Duly filled Application form.
  2. Copy of the NIC card/ Copy of the Driving license.
    1. If you don’t have any of above document, can submit copy of the Birth Certificate
    2. If Minor,
      1. Copy of the Birth Certificate and English Translation.
      2. If single parent travel with child should submit No objection certificate (NOC) signed by both parents.
      3. Passport copies or NIC copies of parents
      4. Request letter from Indian Parent
  3. Two recent (not more than 3 months old) 2×2-inch color photograph (without spectacles) depicting full face with both ear visible in white background. Photo on Passport and VAF must match applicant’s present appearance.
  4. Request letter from applicant
  5. Request letter from spouse
  6. Passport copy of spouse (front/Back).
  7. Copy of Marriage Certificate – Translated (If spouse name not endorsed in Indian passport, Marriage certificate should be attested by MEA).
Participate in Event

  5. Request letter of Sri Lanka organization or company or own covering letter.
Visit for embassy purpose

    2. If Minor,
      1. Copy of the Birth Certificate and English Translation.
      2. If single parent travel with child should submit No objection certificate (NOC) signed by both parents.
      3. Passport copies or NIC copies of parents
      4. Request letter from Indian Parent

  4. Copy of embassy appointment.
  5. Own covering letter.
For Non – Sri Lankan Nationals

Non – Sri Lanka Nationals who wish to apply Entry Visa in Sri Lanka must have work permit / residence permit and be a resident in Sri Lanka for 2 years or more

  1. A copy of SL Visa Page.
  2. A copy of Passport Bio Page
  3. Other documents as same mentioned as above

Please Note:
  • Financial documents or other additional documents should provide if Indian High Commission needed.
  • Visa application form should fill applicant’s name as per the passport
  • Applicants to book their travel ticket only after obtaining visa.
  • Previous visit details at Serial Number F of sample Visa application Form:
    • Applicant to fill the correct visa details of last visit to India.
    • Applicant mention the last availed (actual Traveled) visa number starting with alphabet along with date of issue. (eg: VLI123456 dated 25 June 2017).
    • In case the last visa was an ETV (electronic Visa / e-visa). The visa number and date (date of first entry on e-visa) as stamped / registered on applicant’s passport by Bureau of Immigration, India at time entry into India.
  • The Passport should have a minimum validity of 6 months on the date of application with at least two blank pages. Tampered/ damaged passports are not accepted. All previous passports (If previous is passport is lost, please ensure endorsement to that effect in current passport or provide the police compliant report).
  • Applicant’s address (present / permanent) should provide correctly.
  • Applicants with dual nationality must produce both the passports (along with photocopies) at the time of application.
  • Duration of visa will be decided on a case- to- case basis.
  • Some individual cases may require more time for processing.
  • Applicants may have to attend an Interview at “The High Commission of India” if required.
  • High Commission of India reserves the right to refuse visa without assigning reasons and without refund of fee.
